Rhai is a marine biologist and conservationist who began her career in clinical and biotechnology research, contributing to cancer proteomics, COVID-19 biosurveillance, and pharmaceutical systems development.
 
She later transitioned to marine conservation, leading whale shark monitoring efforts with the Large Marine Vertebrates Research Institute Philippines in Leyte and Palawan. There, she worked with local governments, tourism operators, and fisherfolk to strengthen protections and raise awareness on sustainable marine wildlife interactions. She currently volunteers with Ocean Quest Global, where she practices organic coral propagation and planting using ecologically sensitive methods.

Passionate about shark and ray conservation, Rhai is committed to inclusive, community-driven conservation that connects science, education, and long-term ecosystem stewardship.
